The Company

HISTORY

Founded in 1961, Zilmer was already a renowned manufacturer of mineral oil immersed transformers when, in 1968, it was incorporated by Ineltec, giving birth to Zilmer Ineltec CE, better known as Zilmer. In 1969, the company began manufacturing low and medium tension dry-type transformers, soaked in resin and, in 1978, it launched the line of dry-type voltage and current transformers.

In 1980, ZILMER established a successful partnership with ASEA, through which it acquired the machinery and the license for the manufacturing and maintenance of aluminum wound transformers.

In the year of 1989, it projected and built the first medium-tension cast resin transformer, becoming the first national company to produce this type of equipment. Currently, there are more than three thousand Zilmer-TAM type transformers – cast in epoxy resin – installed in industries, oil platforms, mines, airports and commercial buildings all over the country.

Still in 1989, Zilmer set a technology transfer contract with Rade Koncar, a traditional company from former Yugoslavia, improving the process of winding and shaping resin coils even more.

In July of 1997, the company was certified by BRTüV in its quality system in compliance with the ISO 9001 Standard.

Over these years, Zilmer has been redefining its product line and establishing itself as a national company that offers the most complete range of transformers.

WHO WE ARE

We are a company that’s been in Brazil for 50 years, with experience, history and activities in the electrical sector.

We are prepared and equipped to manufacture a large variety of transformers for the most diverse applications: voltage transformers cast in epoxy resin up to 10 MVA/36kV and immersed in mineral oil up to 15 MVA/72,5kV; special transformers for ovens, test laboratories, voltage regulators and reactors, besides the traditional low tension dry-type voltage and current transformers, cast in epoxy resin in classes 0.6, 15 and 24 kV and in oil in classes 15, 24 and 36 kV.

Our path is defined by quality, reliability and tradition in Brazil’s energy generation and distribution market.
